Middle East trips tend to be either a single Gulf city or a multi-country run through several of them, and the second is common enough — Dubai and Doha, or Riyadh and Bahrain — that a regional plan is often the obvious buy.

Coverage is among the best anywhere
The Gulf states have some of the densest 5G deployment in the world. Dubai and Abu Dhabi have signal on the metro. Doha, Manama, Kuwait City and Riyadh are thoroughly covered. The gaps are the desert interiors beyond the main highways, which are genuinely empty but are also not where most trips go.
If you are travelling for Umrah or Hajj
Saudi Arabia appears in several of the bundles below, but a pilgrimage has its own practicalities — congestion around the holy sites at peak times, coordinating with a group, keeping a battery alive through a long day. We have written those up separately in the Umrah and Hajj eSIM guide, which is the better page to read if that is your trip.
One point worth repeating here: around the Haram during Hajj the limit is load, not coverage. Every network carries extraordinary traffic and everyone sees slower speeds, pilgrims on local SIMs included.
Regional plan or country plan?
Worth it for a multi-country Gulf itinerary. For a week in Dubai alone, the UAE country plan is cheaper.
The arithmetic is simple enough to do yourself: add up what the individual country plans would cost for the countries you are actually visiting, and compare. Our full price list has every country we sell, and local or regional eSIM works through the trade-off in more detail.
Before you buy
Check the handset takes an eSIM and is not carrier-locked — dial *#06# and look for an EID beside the IMEI. No EID means no eSIM hardware, and a locked phone will install the profile then refuse to register. The device compatibility guide lists what works.
Install before you fly, while you still have reliable Wi-Fi: iPhone or Android. If it will not connect after you land, this works through the causes in order.
